Day 4
Today we had a meeting with the headmaster of the Hope Nursery School to discuss his long term plans for the school. He presented several ideas to improve the school in the future. We plan to incorporate these ideas in our own discussions to come to an ideal long term plan.
Next we went to the Serrekunda market, which is about an hour from Sifoe. Here we discovered a new way of shopping. Merchants come to the car with their wares and the passengers make a choice from their car. Drive-through shopping!
After our shopping trip we stopped at Kalifa’s to pick up the wooden tangrams and counting boxes the carpenters had made for us.
Our last stop of the day was a farm in Sifoe. It was a large estate with a lot of different plants and trees. There even were some strawberry plants and the strawberries were almost as good as the ones grown in Belgium.
The farm was a haven of peace and a great example for our own vegetable garden. We’re excited about further collaboration with the people we met there.
