Counting down to our departure 2020
We are done with everything we could take care of from Belgium.
* We bought and collected all kinds of useful things (medicine, educational materials, sports equipment, bicycles for toddlers, medical equipment) and sent those ahead in a container.
* Gambian workmen have done Infrastructure works at the Hope Nursery School (amongst other things they have tiled the classrooms, made the caretaker’s quarters liveable, installed a school kitchen, repaired the roof, and painted the walls).
* We’ve filled the 9 extra suitcases we’re allowed with medicine, English books, translated preschooler toys, jigsaw puzzles,…).
* The class dolls Nellie, Cezar, Piggy and Froggy are ready for departure and await their Gambian adventure full of suspense.
Our personal suitcases and our home front are getting ready for our work trip.
We’ve informed everyone on site about our planning for the week (hopefully someone will be there to pick us up tomorrow when we land in Banjul 🙂 )
In other words: we are ready! Hopefully you are ready to read our daily posts.
By the way: a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our project and gave us heart when we needed it.
